I Bloc Party fanno un passo indietro rispetto al cambio di direzione di "Intimacy", con un quarto album che riesuma i riff taglienti che raccontavano le intenzioni post punk dei loro primi lavori "Silent alarm" e "A weekend in the city". Melodicamente ispirati ("Real talk", "Day four", "The healing"), energici ("3x3", "Coliseum", We are not good people") e pop al punto giusto ("Octopus", "Truth", "V.a.l.i.s.").
